Once an outbreak has been declared by NNPH staff at a facility, reporting of newly ill on a routine basis is required until the outbreak has been officially declared over by NNPH staff. Individuals responsible for the reporting for their facility should use this online reporting form to report newly ill on a daily basis.
For reporting the newly ill, please ensure you use and upload the Outbreak Line List Template found here: https://www.washoecounty.gov/health/programs-and-services/ephp/communicable-diseases-and-epidemiology/Report Communicable Disease.php
While a facility has an ongoing outbreak, remember the following:
In your outbreak email you should have received from the NNPH staff assigned to your facility, you were given exclusion criteria to use during the outbreak. Ensure you use this exclusion criteria to prevent individuals from returning too soon after being ill and continue to do this until you’ve been instructed to stop at the closure of your outbreak.
Cleaning/Disinfecting/Infection Control |
In your outbreak email you should have received from the NNPH staff assigned to your facility, you were given cleaning and disinfecting information, as well as possibly other guidance, to help reduce transmission of illness during the outbreak. Ensure you read and share this information with necessary staff and continue to use this guidance until you’ve been instructed to stop at the closure of your outbreak.
Use this online portal on a daily basis (or weekly only if instructed to do so) to securely report during the duration of your outbreak. Please only report newly ill on a daily basis. Only report individuals once. If there are none to report, simply select no new cases and the dates you’re a reporting for. Report daily unless otherwise instructed by NNPH staff.
